Diesel Engine Bolt Bottle Opener

I hand forge each one of these bottle openers from a diesel truck engine bolt. I heat the piece to 2000 degrees F, then use a slot punch to make a long, thin hole in the bolt. Next I hammer a tapered round drift through the slot to make the opening circular. Finishing touches are then added, like punching the tab, flattening the handle, and hot-punching the personalization by hand.
